Beauty afterthe rain

It hasn't rained this much in awhile. We had a lot of days of snow but the weather was arm enough today that we had rain since last night. It rained for about 12 hours today. Seeing my neighborhood after the rain was beautiful. People might believe that the day after rain is dark and ugly. But seeing the sunshine after the rain, and the sunshine coming through the clouds was amazingly gorgeous. I understand now why people say art comes from nature. I believe nature in itself is a perfect piece of art.

my wallet

This is my new wallet, a friend gave it to me as a gift. It has drawings on the outside and a leaf pattern on the inside. Jeffrey Fulvimari is the designer of this wallet. His drawings are simple but if you look at it from up close it holds much detail at the same time. The drawing outside has leaves too, which matches the inside. It was really good to find an art piece so close to my daily life.

Caribou Coffee

I go to this place almost everyday. It is one of the only places around my neighborhood where I can use the internet and do homework without feeling hurried. Everytime I go to this place I am amazed at how beautiful the place is. Their interior design is truly a piece of art. The first picture is to show their logo, which I believe is another form of daily art. And the second picture is to show the fireplace that is in the middle of the room. It gives the whole atmosphere a more cozier feel.

Visit to the Smart Museum of Art

I went to the Smart Museumof Art at the University of Chicago today. We had to do a project for class so I was looking around to take pitures. This particular art work caught my eye. It's a clock made of metal. It is made all out of metal. There are no pieces made of anything else. To me this was amazing. Even the numbers onthe clock were melted and imbedded on the same piece. It was good to see new things.

Slightly unbalanced

This is slightly unbalanced.
The art is "Ahh . . . Youth!" by Mike Kelley.
They are different pictures of stuffed animals and pictures. They are asymmetrical if you look at them from closely, which reflects the idea of slightly unbalaced works. If you just look at them you won't notice it as easily, but when you look at them closely you will realize they have differences in the eyes, or other areas.
WHen I first saw this picture it was kind of scary, I think that is what the unbalance does.
